Friends of Hempstead Plains

Friends of Hempstead Plains is dedicated to the restoration, protection and preservation of the remaining acres of the ecologically and historically important Hempstead Plains, the native grassland prairie that once covered central Nassau County. Friends of Hempstead Plains at Nassau Community College, Inc. was formed in 2001, dedicated to the perpetual preservation, restoration and management of the site through scientific research and education.
