Nature helps people heal, and The Nature Connection's mission is to improve the well-being of individuals and communities through the therapeutic use of nature. We eliminate barriers and bring the healing power of nature to people with limited access to the outside world: youth at-risk; elders; and people with disabilities. Through ongoing programs combining seasonal natural materials, live animals, and hands-on activities, we connect individuals with nature's capacity to heal, teach, and create joy. Our programs serve as transformational tools for stimulating personal and community change. As participants in our programs connect with animals and explore our re-created natural settings, metaphors about survival, loss, safety, trust and community become more accessible to them.
