Maine Wilderness Guides Org. An Association of Registered Maine Guides The Maine Wilderness Guides Organization MWGO is a community of guides from across Maine committed to leading safe wellorganized enriching and enjoyable outdoor experiences. Established in 2004 by a collective of conservationoriented guides and camp owners MWGO is dedicated to preserving the ecosystems critical for guiding activities upholding the traditional expertise of Maine guides and enhancing the prestige of the guiding community by committing to superior training standards and advanced first aid capabilities beyond those required by the State of Maine. As the role of a guide has evolved MWGO has broadened its view of guiding to encompass more than just the standard Registered Maine Guide activities for instance our membership includes guides leading rock climbing day hikes nature interpretation walks forest therapy and volunteerled excursions.
