THE AFO PRIDES ITSELF AS SERVING AS A BRIDGE BETWEEN THE PROFESSIONAL AND THE AMATEUR ORNITHOLOGIST. THE ORGANIZATION'S MEMBERSHIP AND GOVERNING COUNCIL CONSIST OF BOTH AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL ORNITHOLOGISTS, IN RECOGNITION OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT BOTH MAKE TO ORNITHOLOGY.

[English] Together with the Editors-in-Chief, the Subject Editors are the ones responsible for reviewing the manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Field Ornithology. Articles considered suitable for publication are sent to referees to start the reviewing process. Once delivered back, Subject Editors serve as a nexus between the referees and Editors in Chief, submitting their own comments before the article is sent back to the author.
