At yesterday's leadership meeting, staff donned leis in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. We sampled delicious dishes that celebrated just some of the vast diversity within this rich cultural heritage. The menu included Huli Huli Chicken Sliders (Hawaii), Asian Crunch Salad with Ginger Dressing (East Asia), Pad Thai Noodle Salad (Southeast Asia), and for dessert, Indonesian Pineapple Parfaits. Yum! Thrilled to announce that we’ve successfully achieved full re-accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA)! We’re proud to have COA recognize the quality of care we provide and the standards of excellence we hold ourselves to every day across our programs. Accreditation is no small feat. We reviewed 992 standards, sent surveys to over 400 people, submitted 200+ policies and procedures for review, created 13 logic models, gathered 1,200+ pieces of evidence, reviewed 75 service recipient records, conducted over 40 interviews with staff, board, and program participants, and toured all residential and service buildings. It's our team members that made this all possible. Shout out to every amazing staff member who helped make this possible! And a big shout out to Tammy Sege-Adede, VP of Performance and Quality Improvement, who led the effort agency-wide. COA accreditation is more than just a recognition of the quality of our programs. It’s a framework that helps us improve, implement best practices, and listen to the community. We can’t wait to keep building on this foundation and continue making an impact.
