New Yorkers For Parks

Follow Message Edit

Founded in 1908, we are the citywide independent champion of quality open space. Founding member of the #PlayFair Coalition and the #DaffodilProject. Since 1908, New Yorkers for Parks has protected and promoted open space across the NYC. Today we are the only independent non-profit organization championing quality open space for all New Yorkers. We conduct research and develop specific policy recommendations around our findings related to park development, management and sustainability. Our research guides our advocacy campaigns seeking adequate funding and and equitable distribution of open space resources. We also inform and empower communities through our 400+ member Play Fair Coalition. NY4P has strategic partnerships with multiple stakeholders in the public and private sectors to pursue our goals, including 1% of the City's budget for parks. Our beloved Daffodil Project has planted over 8 million daffodils since 9/11/2001.
