Dock-to-Door Campaign: Educating Our Waterfront Community This summer, Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Services is excited to expand the Dock-to-Door Campaign in partnership with the Thousand Islands Association (TIA). Firefighters will visit seasonal cottages along the water to educate residents about the importance of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire safety, and more. As part of this collaboration, the TIA has generously donated two new portable fire pumps for the new fire boat. The Fire Prevention Team will hold a series of clinics at various locations this summer, to showcase the use of these pumps. These clinics will teach island residents how to safely use fire pumps and emphasize the importance of having one available to contain island fires before Emergency Fire Services arrive. Look for the new fire boat on the St. Lawrence River, and stay updated on upcoming clinic dates through the Fire Department's social media channels and the TLTI website. (fb)
