11 years ago, Nicole Maines and her family went through a painful and public legal battle to secure rights for transgender students in Maine. Though the precedent to allow trans kids to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity was set more than a decade ago, right now, we are fighting that battle again with the swath of anti-trans bills currently before the Maine Legislature.
