"Running the table" - when legislators make the final decisions about which remaining bills from the session will get funded with any remaining available revenue - is always a nail-biter for those of us with lots of priority legislation that needs funding. We're so happy to report that many of our priority bills received funding including: - Full funding for Maine's family planning services - A bill that will require DHHS to create and distribute educational materials on menopause and perimenopause - A bill that will require diaper changing stations in state-owned public buildings - Bills that will require insurance coverage of over-the-counter birth control and MaineCare coverage of independent lactation consultant services - A bill to study gender segregation in Maine's workforce - Funding for Maine's Respite for ME family caregiver support program Now all eyes are on Gov. Mills to see what she signs or vetoes.
