Congratulations Samantha Kramer Project: Pollinator Boxes For my gold award project, I helped to protect the mason bees that are very crucial to our environment in Western New York. By working with young Girl Scout troops to help produce bee hotels. Bee hotels help the mason bees to have a safe place to lay their eggs and bring up the population. Without Mason bees, our fruits and vegetables, and other crops would not be as plentiful. They are especially helpful in the orchard setting. By helping to protect them, we can better our environment and our community. By teaching the younger Girl Scouts about the importance of caring for our environment, and how to increase the population of mason bees, it could have a positive impact on our food source. I reached my goals for this project by reaching out to local troops and the local Girl Scout summer camp held.
