Big news from the Norwich University School of Architecture + Art! Norwich University Design + Build Collaborative is featured at the 2025 Venice Biennale European Cultural Centre Time Space Existence International Architecture Exhibit, running from May 10-November 23rd! Their breakthrough project showcases the exploration of density in small-town fabrics through an intriguing 18’ x 5' wall panel adorned with wooden models of case studies. Joining the ranks of numerous prestigious participants including Harvard GSD, Pratt Institute, MVRDV, and Princeton University, among others. Shout-out to our wonderful third-year architecture students Jade Jimenez and Mykel Fungi who interned on the exhibit, along with fourteen dedicated students who worked with Zach Seibold to fabricate the site models out of local solid wood. The Venice Biennale “Time Space Existence” exhibit represents Norwich competing at the highest level in the design-build sphere. With its expertise in creating affordable, sustainable, and beautiful affordable housing models, the Biennale is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to highlight our best work on an international stage. In addition to celebrating Norwich’s expertise, it provides critical hands-on learning for current students and inspires the creativity and critical thinking necessary to fuel our next developments in the affordable housing frontier. Exploring history up-close in Dresden, Germany with Professor Tom Arnold's Berlin Military History Maymester! While there, the group toured the German Military Museum, which hosts exhibits on all eras of German military history as well as special exhibits on animals in warfare and the civilian costs of war.
