Last week we celebrated Earth Day (April 20) with a week's worth of activities dedicated to environmental stewardship. Kindergarten learned all about vermicomposting (composting with worms) in order to add rich, nutrient-dense compost to our garden; 3rd grade examined their tadpoles to make sure they were growing in a healthy environment; 1st and 5th grade worked together to dissect owl pellets to learn about what owls eat; and students across all elementary grades planted pollinator-friendly plants and vegetable seedlings in our learning garden. This week, activities continue as we gear up to celebrate ELEducation's Better World Day this Friday, May 2. We love seeing our students work together to build a better world for their future!
