Global Solutions for Infectious Diseases
Global Solutions for Infectious Diseases (GSID) aims to expand the development of products for the prevention and diagnosis of infectious diseases afflicting less developed countries.
Infectious diseases cause almost half of all deaths in the developing world, whereas they represent less than 5% in the United States. Vaccines are widely seen as the most effective and cost efficient way of managing these public health threats. Diagnostics can ensure proper treatment is prescribed, as well as increase our understanding of the diseases through better surveillance. Despite their potential to dramatically improve global health, developing vaccines and diagnostics for the developing world are not a priority for the private sector, as the financial returns remain minimal. With extensive experience in public health and private sector product development, our team works with biotechnology companies, academic institutions, and other global health organizations to ensure that new products are developed to address those most in need. Together, we all work to find Global Solutions for Infectious Diseases.
