Meet Chyanne Cooper a member of our O’Dwyer Gardens Cornerstone team! This center in Coney Island serves senior adults and children with enriching social and recreational programming. Chyanne is a Coney Island local and participated in the center’s after-school dance program as a youngster. When this position opened up, she leapt at the chance to give back to the O’Dwyer community. “I see some of [our members] in passing, and it's really good to see that they remember me. It’s a positive mark,” Chyanne says. She finds it especially rewarding when kids who have aged out of the after-school program reach out to her down the road and tell her what the experience meant to them.
