The shooting war of the 79th Division is over and the men are on occupation duty until they receive word that they will finally be headed home. Unfortunately, this won't be for some time. While they are waiting, the 79th Division is recovering from the recent campaigns, receiving new uniforms and equipment, getting back into drill sessions, and actively training. Just as the 79th Division has moved on to other duties, I will be moving on as well. This will be my last post as I shift my focus back onto some of my other interests. It has been a busy couple of years and I have definitely learned a lot! Everything that you have read on this page is 100% open source information that is available for FREE. What this means is that everything can be found online or is contained in publicly accessible collections. The only real expense that I incurred was fuel cost, a parking fee, and burning a day of leave when I visited my local archives. The story of the 79th Division in WW1 is far from over, and there is a ton of information out there for you to continue your learning, most of which can be researched without even leaving your home.
