Founded in 1942 by Edith Sullivan Golde and other pupils of renowned Vienna pedagogue Theodor Leschetizky, the Leschetizky Association provides performance opportunities for pianists of all ages. The Leschetizky Association was formed in 1942 by pupils of renowned Vienna pedagogue Theodor Leschetizky (-1915) to honor his memory by perpetuating his ideals and principles of piano playing and teaching. The Association organizes performing opportunities for young students, for adult amateurs, and for concert artists, along with a Teachers Forum, masters classes, and a concerto competition for pianists 17 and younger, the winner receiving a full concerto performance with orchestra in New York City.
