“Is the rain going to stop us?” “NO!” “Are the haters going to stop us?” “NO!” The 9th annual @blankenburgelementaryschool Parade went on yesterday morning despite the all day drizzle. The gorgeous 4th grade puppets matched the students with clear ponchos to protect them through the march. It just may have been the loudest most high energy Blankenburg Parade yet. Hige appreciation to the students, teachers, administrators, parents, volunteers, Q board members, and Spiral Q team for bringing their all to make it a very special event for the school and neighborhood. #findingjoy Our 11th year at @blankenburgelementaryschool is beginnning soon and we’re looking to our community to help replenish our recyclable and material supplies! Current Q-llector hotlist Brown Paper Bags Latex house paint (any color but buttercream) Paint brushes Cereal Boxes Paper towel tubes Toilet paper tubes Poster tubes Large (non stretchy) fabric (3 yards and over) Traffic cones Much of these material are used in one of the first activities of the residency with the 4th graders, Free Create. In free create students are given basic materials and household recyclables and can make whatever they want. The only rule is they can’t ask any adults what they should do.
