WOMEN IN JAZZ ASSOCIATION, Inc.
The Women in Jazz Association, Inc. is dedicated to the preservation, education, exposure and performance of jazz music. We focus on performance opportunities for female vocalists and instrumentalists. Women in Jazz Association produces Concert Series and Vocal Performance Workshops for performance opportunities and experiences of professional and amateur jazz vocalists in the surrounding Austin area. The purpose of Women in Jazz Association is to perpetuate the appreciation and performance of traditional jazz vocal and instrumental music. The Objectives of Women in Jazz Association: To provide a venue to non-professional and professional female vocalists and instrumentalists who are not regularly featured in Austin area venues; To foster the growth of jazz appreciation to residents not familiar to this American tradition; To provide a high-quality cultural arts experience for Austin; and To provide professional development in the performance and music industry to female vocalists.
