Healthcare is under attack! Since October 2023, over 280 UNRWA staff members—including doctors, teachers, and counselors, and aid workers—have been killed by the Israeli military. These were humanitarians who served their communities with care, compassion, and courage. In total, 408 aid workers have been killed—the highest death toll of UN personnel in history. Despite only 10 of 27 UNRWA health centers remaining operational, UNRWA teams continue to show up as one of the largest health actors operating in the Gaza Strip, delivering emergency medical care and mental health support—under siege.
