Organizing Lower East Side tenants since 1959. Proud victors against Robert Moses' plan to destroy our community. Still building a tenant movement today! Cooper Square Committee works with area residents to contribute to the preservation and development of affordable, environmentally healthy housing and community/cultural spaces so that the Lower East Side remains racially & economically diverse.
