About a year ago, Lee left New Directions to take the next big step in his recovery journey—moving into transitional housing. Since then, he has shown remarkable strength and determination. Today, Lee is celebrating one full year of sobriety. He’s also preparing to graduate from the I CAN reentry program at Goodwill, where he’s been honored with an invitation to speak at the graduation ceremony. Lee often stops by New Directions to say hello and offer encouragement to others who are just beginning their journey. After three separate stays with us, he says this final time was different. “This time, the light bulb went off,” he shared. Lee gives credit to New Directions, saying the support and words he heard here helped him make lasting change. With deep gratitude for the recovery community, Lee emphasizes one powerful message: "You have to be willing and accepting of change."
