Capital K9s | police k9 nonprofit | Madison, WI 53701, USA

Capital K9s is a non-profit 501(c)(3) & supports the City of Madison Police Dept K9 Unit. We are a non-profit 501(c)3, volunteer-run, organization which exists to support the expansion and maintenance of the City of Madison Police Department K9 unit and to educate the community about the value and effectiveness of using dogs in police work. Our K9s benefit the community in many ways: tracking and locating missing persons; detecting illegal drugs, weapons and explosives; apprehending dangerous suspects; keeping officers and civilians safe by de-escalating dangerous situations; and much more. We make the initial purchase of the K9s, squad cars or SUV's specially equipped for the safety of the dogs and their handlers; we also pay for the continuing training during the career of the K9s, and food, veterinary care and related expenses.
