Arts Education Services, Ballet The mission of Ballet Ambassadors is to give children and teens thechance to share the stage with professional dancers in costumed adaptations ofthe ballet classics, original ballets. Specialneeds students and English Language Learners are welcome to join in the fun andthe learning. We tailor our choreography to allow them to succeed but we holdthem to high standards and they invariably rise to the occasion with pleasureand panache. The overwhelming majority of the students come fromfamilies without the resources to expose their children to the arts or to payfor out-of-school time ballet lessons. A teacher in a South Bronx high school wrote:"During our time of working together on 'Romeo and Juliet,' I saw many ofmy students come alive in ways I've never seen before. I saw them enjoying thechallenge, working hard to learn the choreography, and laughing with oneanother. But perhaps most important, I saw each and every one of them believein themselves." A 13-year-old wrote: "I was so proud of all of us because we actually did something good. I will remember this for the rest of my life. I will use this experience to motivate myself in life."
