We work to provide safe shelter, food, support services, and an avenue to self-sufficiency for homele Our vision and mission are based on three core values: (1) we believe in the inherent strength of the people we serve and trust they are able to determine the course of their lives and achieve housing stability; (2) we believe in building relationships of mutual trust and respect by recognizing the right of self-determination of everyone and ensuring that underrepresented voices are given an opportunity to influence decisions and speak their truth; (3) we believe that simple, decent and affordable housing is a right for all people and is necessary for building and sustaining healthy communities.

Programs MMHSS provides a range of essential services and support to individuals experiencing homelessness in addition to our emergency shelter. Events Joining a MMHSS event is a meaningful way to uphold our mission. MMHSS hosts events aimed at advancing our objectives and raising funds to alleviate homelessness in central Maine.

Their visit brought not just beautiful music, but a deep sense of connection, comfort, and joy to everyone here.
