Critics and audiences alike have praised the brilliance and professionalism of the performances while wondering at the incredibly low ticket prices. Founded by Camille Coppola and Billie Tucker and incorporated in 1985 as a nonprofit organization its mission is to create a deeper understanding and appreciation of live opera and to provide top quality professional opera performances to local people who would not ordinarily be able to afford such an experience.
