Sunderland Antiquarians Society Sunderland Antiquarian Society The society which was founded in 1900 has its heritage centre at 6 Douro Terrace Sunderland SR2 7DX and by publications research and illustrated talks encourages interest in the history of Sunderland and its environs. We hold extensive archives of the city which have been amassed and donated since 1900 and all are readily available for members and visitors to view. scroll down Membership The societys Heritage Centre in Douro Terrace contains nine rooms packed with the archives of the city. We are in a continuous programme of uploading articles photographs and newsletters packed with stories of the old Town onto the Members Only Area of this site.
