🌬️Nsanje, Malawi faces nature’s extremes. On the one hand, extreme 🌡️ heat leads to droughts in the dry season, while 🌧️ heavy rains and the Shire River can bring devastating floods during wet season. For the most vulnerable communities Concern Worldwide partners with who rely on farming, the impacts are devastating when cultivating crops becomes nearly impossible. These effects are a stark reminder of El Niño’s impact in Malawi, which has placed over 5.7 million people are at risk of acute food insecurity during the lean season (October 2024 - March 2025). As a response, Concern launched a 🤝 partnership with the World Food Programme to support emergency food distribution in the area. Through each of four distributions, nearly 30,000 households receive 110lbs of maize, along with 17oz of cooking oil. Depending on the size of each household, these rations can last up to a month. For others, just a few days. While the future of foreign aid remains uncertain, one thing is clear: the need has never been greater. 📸: Concern Worldwide 🔗Link to act now to provide food security for vulnerable families around the world: https://concernusa.org/humanitarianaid (fb)

⛑️ One of the main objectives of our emergency programming is to respond rapidly to crises to save lives and reduce suffering. Here, in West Darfur, Sudan, we target vulnerable households in 10 of the surrounding villages severely affected by the conflict that broke out in April 2023. While many people fled across the border to Chad, leaving everything behind, some of them have since returned to find their homes damaged or destroyed and their possessions looted. This is where Concern Worldwide comes in. Whether it be the delivery of hygiene kits or life-saving food, clean water, and medicine, Concern responds to meet the needs of those most affected and, most importantly, stays long after the crises fade from the headlines. 📸: Kieran McConville/Concern Worldwide (fb)
