IESC transforms lives and strengthens communities by equipping individuals with in-demand skills and connecting them to employment opportunities. Over the past decade alone, we’ve helped more than 73,000 people secure new or better jobs around the world. By working with businesses and training providers, we ensure people gain the right skills for the right jobs at the right time. Here’s how: • In Bosnia and Herzegovina, we embedded centers of excellence in six training institutions to deliver cutting-edge, market-driven training to support the manufacturing sector, contributing to 2,657 people gaining new skills • In Georgia, we catalyzed $13 million in private sector investment and established 65 partnerships between businesses and training institutions in high-demand industries like automotive, health care, entertainment, and IT, with 62% of upskilled students securing new or better jobs • In Sri Lanka, we developed 85 responsive, high-quality training curricula in growing sectors, including tourism, IT, and consumer products, incorporating input from leading businesses like John Keells and Cargill and contributing to 68,221 young Sri Lankans securing new or better jobs Our market-based approach empowers jobseekers to build meaningful careers, enables businesses to thrive, and strengthens labor markets throughout the economically developing world. IESC remains committed to strengthening small businesses, which has been at the heart of our work since our founding in 1964. Since then, we have collaborated with thousands of businesses and entrepreneurs across diverse sectors, empowering them to launch, innovate, and grow. Here are a few ways we’ve made an impact: • In Bosnia and Herzegovina, our support helped 54 businesses obtain 94 certifications, increasing their exports to the European Union. • We equipped Vietnamese suppliers to better meet the needs of lead firms by enhancing manufacturing practices, customer engagement, and sales negotiations, leading to 280 transactions valued at $8.6 million. • Additionally, we connected 1,200 Ethiopian businesses with U.S. buyers through 21 trade promotion events, generating $19 million in sales. Through our work, businesses throughout the economically developing world have increased sales, created jobs, and improved standards of living, catalyzing economic growth and enabling people and communities to thrive.
