Planting Hope PLANTING Hope Sembrando Esperanzas Since 2002 Planting Hope has promoted educational opportunties cultural exchanges and grassroots initiatives in Nicaragua and Vermont La Chispa Library celebrates twenty years in Matagalpa and subsequently suspends operations. In May 2022 Planting Hopes La Chispa Library celebrated its 20th Anniversary as a fixture for a generation of children and youth in the Walter Mendoza neighborhood of Matagalpga. Unfortunately a day later we had to suspend our work and close the library based on an indication from the Nicaraguan government that they had cancelled our legal status in Nicaragua. Our staff community board of directors and students are heartbroken by this news.
