Summary of the Fourth Day of the May 2025 Medical Mission in Syria – Wednesday, May 21 The fourth day of the May Medical Mission witnessed a wide array of specialized medical and educational activities across several Syrian cities, reflecting a strong commitment to enhancing healthcare services and supporting local medical capacities. Damascus: Dr. Bariah Duwaji led a specialized training session entitled "Essential Newborn Care" at Al-Mujtahid Hospital, with the participation of 19 trainees. Meanwhile, at Al-Mowasat Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Basel Abushaer conducted a Board Review Q&A workshop attended by 13 internal medicine residents. In clinical care, Dr. Bashar Al-Hamad provided 15 medical consultations across various departments of Al-Mujtahid Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Obada Subei conducted 4 patient consultations at the Surgical Eye Hospital in Damascus. Idlib: Idlib stood out for its rich and intensive medical agenda. Dr. Bayan Alsuleiman performed 9 gastrointestinal consultations and procedures at Idlib Central Hospital and delivered a lecture on liver diseases. Dr. Muhamad Kamil Obideen provided 10 consultations and performed 2 endoscopic interventions, in addition to conducting a round in the ICU. At Al-Zira’a Specialty Hospital, Dr. Moutaz Al-Nabhan conducted rounds in both the intensive care unit and the recovery ward, offering consultations to 15 patients. Furthermore, Dr. Waseem Ballani performed 3 advanced cardiac device implantations for patients suffering from heart failure, combining therapeutic procedures with on-site training. Qaah: Dr. Boudour Khayer concluded the second day of the PALS-BLS hands-on training at the Simulation Center, where 15 female trainees from various specialties actively participated in the session. Aleppo: Dr. Faysal Aref Rifai delivered 4 medical consultations and presented a scientific lecture for internal medicine doctors with the participation of 2 trainees. Meanwhile, Dr. Basel Hejjo Alrefai performed 2 peripheral vascular catheter-based interventions at Aleppo University Hospital. Hama: Dr. Hoda Kasem conducted a highly productive clinical round at Hama National Hospital, providing essential follow-up and care for admitted patients.
