We’re thrilled to share that, 170 juvenile Cerro Azul giant tortoises (𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘢) were recently repatriated to Cinco Cerros on Isabela Island in joint efforts with the Galápagos National Park Directorate (Parque Nacional Galápagos). After careful breeding and care at the Isabela Island Breeding Center, these tortoises are now home, ready to fulfill their vital ecological roles as ecosystem engineers.
