Children of the City
Changing the culture of poverty through education + outreach since 1982 | Providing socioeconomic progress through learning, development, & wellness Children of the City (COC) is a children's development organization that provides programs that respond to the needs of disadvantaged children living in Southwest Brooklyn. Poverty is the number one cause of educational failure rates in the communities we serve. The organization aims to close the academic skills gaps for each child and to address the social issues that hinder young students from focusing on their education and achieving success. To reach this goal, COC provides intervention and supplemental education services in collaboration with local schools and a network of partner agencies. These services provide children and families with a well-rounded approach to achieving success by offering programs that support the families on all levels.
