Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club Inc.
Overview
The Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club Inc. (HRRVC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the interests and promoting the community of Holiday Rambler recreational vehicle (RV) owners across the United States. Established in 1964, the club fosters a sense of camaraderie and provides resources for its members, including organizing events, rallies, and facilitating the sharing of information among RV enthusiasts.
History
The inception of the HRRVC can be traced back to the recognition of a growing interest among Holiday Rambler owners for a dedicated community. This idea was supported by Richard Klingler, the founder of Holiday Rambler Corporation, who facilitated the formation of the club by using company records to reach out to RV owners. The club was originally named the National Holiday Rambler Travel Trailer Club, Inc. (NHRTTC) before adopting its current name in 1975.
In its early years, the club quickly gained traction, reaching a membership of 500 by December 1964. As membership grew, so did the clubβs activities and offerings, including the first National Rally in 1965, which saw 484 units in attendance.
Over the years, HRRVC has introduced various awards and events to enhance member engagement, such as the "Order of the Hitchball," an accolade that recognizes significant contributions to the club. The club also played a pivotal role in establishing partnerships with conservation organizations, reflecting its commitment to responsible RV ownership and environmental stewardship.
Membership and Activities
HRRVC is recognized as one of the fastest-growing corporate-sponsored RV clubs in the nation. Members enjoy various benefits, such as access to newsletters, rallies, and caravans. A notable milestone occurred in 1977 when the club hosted its largest rally, accommodating 2,214 units. Additionally, the club continues to evolve by implementing new programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing membership experiences, such as the introduction of roadside assistance programs and partnerships with charitable organizations like Make-A-Wish.
Community Involvement
The club has a significant focus on fostering community among RV enthusiasts. This includes organizing regional and national rallies, where members can gather to share their experiences, participate in activities, and engage in community service. The HRRVC maintains a strong social presence through newsletters and online platforms, allowing members to connect and share information easily.
With a robust framework for supporting its members, the Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club Inc. stands as a central hub for Holiday Rambler RV owners, embodying a spirit of adventure, fellowship, and fun within the recreational vehicle community.
