FURNITURE FRIENDS
Furniture Friends is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization based in Westbrook, ME that reduces homelessness and improves housing stability by collecting donated furniture and distributing it to individuals and families in southern Maine. Since our founding in 2012, we have helped over 13,000 people (including 5,000 children) create their homes by providing them with essential items (like beds, bureaus, dining tables, chairs, sofas and lamps) free-of-charge. Recipients include formerly unhoused individuals, neighbors recovering from substance use, new or recent immigrants, individuals starting over after domestic violence or abuse, veterans, disabled and elderly individuals. With ongoing support from the community, we are able to fulfill our mission of "Creating Homes. Rebuilding Lives."
