Nutrition & Education International Eradicating Malnutrition in Afghanistan NEI Has Provided Emergency Food Aid to Over 4300 Internally Displaced Families Since the Taliban government takeover in August 2021 many Afghan families who were internally displaced remain in refugee camps in Kabul. In 2023 the World Food Programme stated that acute malnutrition is above emergency thresholds in 25 out of 34 provinces. For the last three years NEI has been providing firewood and food packages including proteinrich soybeans fortified soy flour rice and cooking oil to the most vulnerable families living in refugee camp villages in Kabul. According to the Kabul Department of Rural Rehabilitation NEI is the only humanitarian group that is providing both firewood and highprotein emergency food aid.
