Happy World Health Day. Today, we recognize the importance of health care access and public health services around the globe. In the United States, the COPD Foundation is extremely concerned with widespread reports of major staff reductions across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including in the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products and the CDC's Office on Smoking and Health. These resources are critical to addressing the public health crisis of lung disease in the United States, where 16 million Americans have been diagnosed with COPD and millions more remain undiagnosed. Today, on World Health Day, we ask you to join us in urging elected officials to prioritize the health of Americans and ensure the ability of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to pursue that mission. #WorldHealthDay #COPD #lunghealth (fb)

Benefits can include stronger respiratory muscles to aid airflow, reduced shortness of breath, improved sputum mobilization, connection and fun with others We are excited to share this video from the Interior Health Kamloops Community Respiratory. They are the first in Canada to run the COPD Foundation’s Harmonicas for Health Program! What is COPD. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease COPD which includes lung conditions such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis can cause shortness of breath fatigue and a persistent cough. COPD is often linked to lung irritants like smoke and pollution and is sometimes even genetic. While there is currently no cure early diagnosis and proper care can help you breathe better and live well for many years.
