It’s almost unbelievable to say that 25 years ago today, Sandy Rollman lost her life to ovarian cancer. This milestone feels heavy. It seems nearly impossible for that amount of time to go by. But in grief, time often stands still. And even as time goes by, the pain is still very much there. There is not a day that goes by that we don’t think about her and share her story with others. We may never understand why Sandy had such a hard road, one in which she had to fight for each and every minute of every day. What we do know is that her life meant something. It meant something to us, but beyond that, her life has meant something to other families in similar situations, to every woman who walks through our door, to every researcher that’s received a grant, and to every person SROCF has touched.
