Sonia Plumb Dance Company — Providing innovative, contemporary dance to the community through performances, community outreach and educational programs. “Mystical, electrifying and sensuous...an aesthetic adventure - Hartford Courant SONIA PLUMB DANCE COMPANY MISSION Through the lens of innovative modern dance, we awaken, enrich, and educate communities to diverse perspectives of our world. SPDC reaches beyond the arts community with a diverse repertoire that reflects upon larger societal issues through performances, classes, workshops, community outreach, arts integration residencies and collaborations with musicians and composers, artists and actors, puppeteers, poets and professors. It is our vision to fulfill our mission by providing audiences from all cultures, age groups, abilities and income levels regionally and nationally with opportunities to learn how to dance, watch dance, appreciate dance and/or incorporate dance in their lives.

Sonia Plumb Dance Company The power of dance There is truly a power in dancing physical and mental wellbeing spatial awareness social connections rhythm cognitive strengthening creative expression the list goes on. Whether a child at play a professional on stage a student in the classroom or an audience member watching dance provides joy exhilaration and so much more. Thus I founded SPDC as a nonprofit 501c3 in the State of Connecticut in 1991. SPDC has morphed throughout the years following the trajectory of life.
