JobsFirstNYC: Unleashing the economic power of young adults JobsFirstNYC creates and advances solutions that break down barriers and transform the systems supporting young adults and their communities in the pursuit of economic opportunities. The Challenge Current systems to improve the livelihoods of young adults are fragmented and slow to respond to todays rapidly changing economy and increased demand for skilled labor. Transforming these systems requires an unconventional approach based on intentional and inclusive collaboration. 108185 16 to 24yearolds are out of school and out of work in New York City 61 of jobs held by young people are parttime 31 of New York City college students work while in school and fewer students are finishing their degrees 72 of job openings will require at least some postsecondary education andor training by 2031 Our Approach We embrace a collaborative 5step process designed to identify challenges incubate new solutions and advance what works.
