In honor of World Autism Awareness Day, we're spotlighting the The Autism Nature Trail at Letchworth State Park (ANT), a project the Natural Heritage Trust was honored to support through private fundraising. From start to finish, the ANT has been a testament to the power of individual champions to dream up a more inclusive and richer park experience. This trail, designed for individuals with sensory processing disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a 1-mile closed loop featuring eight stations, each with a particular sensory focus. Open since October 2021, the ANT is a unique and innovative resource that draws visitors from across the country and around the world. The trail is open to the public and welcomes neurodivergent and neurotypical visitors alike. #AutismAwareness #TheANT #LetchworthStatePark #humphreynaturecenter (fb)

🕵🏿🦉🦆Today may be April Fool's Day, but it's also International Bird Day! Mark the occasion by finding your inner Detective Cordelia Cupp (iykyk) and get birding! While many of the birds on Detective Cupp's Bird Bucket List are rarely spotted in New York State, there are many others out there for you to find! See if you can spot a Bobolink, a Northern Harrier, a Short-eared Owl, or perhaps an Upland Sandpiper. Help other New Yorker's discover the joy of birding by contributing to the I Bird NY Program. I BIRD NY was launched in 2017 to increase access to New York's vast natural resources and promote no- and low-cost opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature. Donate by visiting https://www.naturalheritagetrust.org/i-bird-ny. (And to see an expert birder in action, watch The Residence on Netflix!) #IBirdNY #Birding #InternationalBirdDay #TheResidence #CordeliaCupp #cordeliacuppvibes #DEC #NYSParks (fb)
