United Way of Central Indiana We have a friend named ALICE. ALICE an acronym for Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed represents a growing number of families who are unable to afford the basics of housing child care food transportation health care and technology. These workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial hardship all while keeping our local communities running. Right now more than one in three Central Indiana households are in poverty or considered ALICE.
