Our CEO Jessie recently visited Manzanar, a WWII-era detention center for Japanese Americans. Hearing survivors’ stories was a powerful reminder: the fear and prejudice that fueled injustice then are echoing today. As they spoke of lost homes and childhoods, Jessie thought of the kids in our office now—playing while their parents meet with immigration attorneys—and wondered what their stories will be decades from now.
