In response to challenges faced by nurses across New York, Cabrini Health Foundation announced $51 million in funding for 13 hospitals across the state, and we are elated to announce that UHS is one of them! This generous grant will allow us to pursue accreditation through the Magnet Recognition Program from American Nurses Association. The nursing staff at our hospitals will receive increased support in the face of workforce shortages and will allow us to implement virtual nursing and nurse residency programs. We are beyond grateful to be one of the recipients of this funding and are in great company among the other grantees. Together, we will all be able to strengthen New York’s nursing workforce and continue providing high-quality care to our communities. Our Trauma Services & Injury Prevention team has had a busy end of April and beginning of May! Our UHS Trauma Program Manager Bethlehem Emmons-Post presented at two different conferences on trauma and injury in Las Vegas, covering our traffic safety partnership with Broome County and our strategy for injury prevention. Our team also attended a Health Fair at Deposit High School connecting with students about the different aspects of what they do.
