Meet the Grant Recipient: Crescent Islamic Montessori School (CIMS) Located in Beaverton, Oregon, Crescent Islamic Montessori School (CIMS) is a vibrant, inclusive community serving children ages 3-8 with a culturally responsive, trauma-informed Montessori education, rooted in Islamic values and open to all. AT CIMS, 92% of students are children of color, and 100% speak a language other than English at home. Many come from refugee and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, bringing with them resilience, richness, and diverse lived experiences.
