Home - Wildlife Recreation and Coalition Unifying Voices for Washingtons Great Outdoors The Coalition would like to acknowledge that the work we do in Washington is done on occupied land. Since time immemorial many Indigenous nations including the 29 federally recognized Tribes in Washington and those not yet recognized have cared for and called this land home. We are deeply grateful to these Tribes for their lasting protection of the lands and waterways on which we work play learn and organize today. We encourage you to find out whose land youre on and how to support them by exploring the Native Land Map.

On Tuesday, May 20, Governor Bob Ferguson signed the 2025–2027 Capital Budget (Senate Bill 5159). The Governor highlighted major investments in housing, K–12 education, behavioral health facilities, and—last but not least—recreation and economic opportunities, including $120 million for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP). In this clip, Governor Ferguson shares how recreation supports our children’s well-being, strengthens local economies, and creates healthier, more connected communities.

Did you know. The Green Lake Small Craft Center (GLSCC) renovation was partially funded by the Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program (WWRP). 🙌 Seattle Parks & Recreation used a WWRP Water Access grant to help bring major upgrades to Green Lake: ✅ A new, larger dock with two floats ✅ Renovated two existing park bathrooms and added two new ADA-accessible restrooms with showers in the boathouse ✅ Better access for para-paddlers ✅ More space for non-motorized watercraft like kayaks and canoes It’s all part of GLSCC’s exciting transformation, including a brand new, two story Boathouse.
