Above the Clouds Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing joy and hope to seriously ill, disabled, and disadvantaged children and teens through the experience of flight.
Mission
The mission of Above the Clouds is to provide relief to children under stress and to inspire disengaged youth by making their dreams come true through flight experiences. This mission is accomplished through various programs designed to engage children and young individuals in aviation-related activities.
Programs
Above the Clouds operates three main programs:
- Dream Flyers: This program allows children facing adversity to become copilots in small aircraft and enjoy a VIP experience for the day. All Dream Flights are provided free of charge to participants and their families.
- Discovery Flyers: A mentoring initiative focused on teenagers between the ages of 12 and 22. Participants meet monthly with pilot mentors and learn about aviation.
- Cadet Program: Designed for underrepresented youth in aviation, this program includes presentations by industry professionals such as engineers, mechanics, and pilots. It also offers tower tours and hands-on aviation technology experiences to inspire young people to pursue careers in the aviation industry.
