The webinar examined the FDA's current recommendations for long-term safety monitoring of gene therapy recipients and highlighted the critical need to design follow-up studies around patient needs and preferences. Foundation Executive Director George Eastwood advocated for decentralized patient follow‑up, the exploration of advanced technologies, and potential changes to current FDA regulations.

The Foundation is excited to announce Emily and Tom Whitehead as speakers at the TEDx Fargo event in North Dakota on July 23. Tom and Emily will share the story of Emily's battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and her inspiring journey as the first pediatric CAR T-cell therapy patient. The Whiteheads continue to share their journey at industry conferences and events around the globe to advocate for greater access to life-saving advanced therapies and to help turn Emily’s survivor story into tens of thousands of survivor stories.
