Empowering Multilingual Learners and Their Educators | SEAL Last week nearly half of the U. S. Department of Education was let go marking the first steps in the attempt to dismantle the agency including the eradication of the Office of English Language Acquisition OELAthe only federal office dedicated to supporting English learners. At SEAL we believe in the positive impact of multilingualism on student success.

SOBRATO EARLY ACADEMIC LANGUAGE PROGRAM

How can you tell how well a school is serving its English Learners. 📊 One way is through the English Language Progress Indicator, which shows how many students improved on the state’s ELPAC test, stayed the same, or decreased. Another way is the reclassification rate—how many students each year are able to exit English Learner status (though this data hasn’t been published since 2020–21).
