His lived experiences led him to connect with his peers through SWP’s online programming, where a compelling community further drove forward his advocacy with purpose transformed from pain and passion. On the SWP executive board, Davy aims to enhance the organization’s strategic outreach to students struggling with psychosis just like he once lived through.  He works as a consultant and advisor for various mental health nonprofits to build system-changing projects and impactful initiatives. Davy’s ongoing collaboration with the Schizophrenia and Psychosis Action Alliance has developed many essential resources and toolkits serving those impacted by psychosis. Davy works to leverage his lived expertise to empower others to find their own strength-based recovery path and their best resilience strategies. He has presented engaging workshops at numerous conferences with Active Minds, NAMICon, New Leaders Council, and as a keynote speaker at the 2024 Tennessee’s Healthy Transitions summit. Davy also serves as a NextGen young adult member of the National Board of Directors for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. In 2022, Davy shared his own lived experience through countless community educational presentations in his local NAMI affiliate Palm Beach County, FL. Earning a mini grant for his advocacy, Davy’s favorite initiative has always been bringing his own recovery story into local mental health hospitals - featuring culturally-reflective personal storytelling interweaved with foot-tapping live alto saxophone songs.  Davy earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science - with focuses on computer science and management - from Vanderbilt University in 2020. Davy loves how his technical and math-oriented background drives his strategic leadership and analytical thinking within his heart-lead advocacy work. (fb)
