Sole remaining board member, James Thaxton, and I met yesterday evening to do a number of things related to wrapping up Project Laundry List. We donated the remaining funds totaling $780.20 to a special laundry-focused fund at the Colorado State University Foundation. I have put the Project Laundry List website up for sale. We found out that the IRS in 2019 had determined that Project Laundry List is defunct, because we had not filed a tax return since James dissolved the corporation in 2016. For me, although I have been waiting nearly a decade for these things to happen, it was a bittersweet moment of laying what was once my baby to rest. Thank you for your involvement. This Facebook page may soon change or disappear. It is exciting that there is a “right to dry“ bill in the Pennsylvania legislature right now. I’m wearing a pair of jeans from Levi’s that say in the clothing care tag “line dry.” We have left our mark…together! Special thanks to The New York Times, which put us on the map in 2007, when a story from Ye Older Grey Lady was ranked first for a week, except a brownie recipe, in Yahoo’s rankings. We were founded in 1995 at Middlebury College, a couple years before advisory board member Bill McKibben went to work there. Special thanks also to our advisory board members, particularly Dr. Helen Caldicott, who was the inspiration for this project. It was certainly the highlight for me, sick with a head cold as I was, to appear on Stephen Colbert’s old show in 2009.
