Calfee Community & Cultural Center OUR MISSION Community. The Calfee Community Cultural Center is revitalizing the legacy of the historic Calfee Training School by serving our communitys present needs in order to create a stronger future. From 1894 to 1966 the Calfee Training School educated African American children in Pulaski VA. Faced with severe underfunding from Jim Crow segregation the Calfee Training School became a community helping children and their families reach their full potential.

💛 We’re transforming the historic Calfee Training School into a vibrant community hub—with high-quality childcare and a powerful museum exhibit "Quiet Courage", telling the untold stories of local heroes. Give Local NRV - the region's giving month is here - and your gift helps open new classrooms, support working families, and preserve a legacy of strength, equality, and education. The Calfee Center was recently awarded a challenge grant of $100,000 from the Cabell Foundation for construction on new classrooms at the Harmon Learning Center.
